Easy Salisbury Steak Ingredients
Hamburger Patties
Buy pre-made hamburger patties from your local butcher counter to make this recipe easy and hassle free! I like to choose something that is at least 85/15 and not too lean so it doesn’t dry out while cooking. We are looking for about ½ inch – 1 inch thick patties. I love to use these Certified Piedmontese Hamburger Patties.
Seasonings
We’re truly keeping it easy and simple and sticking to the classics: salt and pepper!
Aromatics
Onion and garlic help bring depth of flavor to this dish.
Mushrooms
You can choose either white or baby bella mushrooms to slice up. Just make sure to get them nice and clean before slicing as mushrooms tend to carry some dirt with them!
Beef Stock
I prefer to use a good, quality beef stock over beef broth for this recipe as it helps deliver a depth of flavor.
Dijon Mustard
Adds the perfect “tang” to the Salisbury steak sauce!
Worcestershire Sauce
A quick and easy way to add a lot of flavor.

How to Make Easy Salisbury Steak
1
Season and Sear.
Season the beef patties with the salt and pepper and sear until golden brown on each side in a large skillet.
2
Sauté and Sauce.
Sauté the onion in garlic in the same skillet after the hamburger patties have been removed. Add in the sliced mushrooms and get those nice and golden brown. Then, start assembling the sauce! Beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard get swirled into the skillet until smooth.
3
Simmer and Serve.
Nestle the seared hamburger patties back into the sauce and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Allow to simmer until the sauce has thickened and the patties are cooked through, spooning the sauce over the tops several times during the cooking process.
Serve over a bed of mashed potatoes and dig in!
