Cherry Vanilla Iced Latte

I’m not going to lie, I was a little skeptic about trying a cherry syrup in my morning latte, but man-oh-man it’s SO good! We’re officially hooked! Whip up a batch of this easy, cherry syrup to keep in your fridge to add some pep to your morning cup of coffee!

Cherry Vanilla Latte Ingredients

Frozen cherries

The star of the show! Using frozen cherries not only makes your life easier (ahem, no cherry pitting required), but they also don’t need as much cook time as fresh cherries to develop a decadent syrup!

Vanilla

Use your favorite vanilla extract for this recipe.

Milk

Easily customize your latte with your preferred milk choice! Regular, oat, coconut or almond all work great!

Espresso

Brew up a shot or two of espresso (depending on strength desired/needed). Don’t have an espresso machine? That’s ok! Keep reading for more options!

Got Milk?

Easily customize this latte recipe by using your favorite choice of milk!

Regular, oat, almond or coconut milk all work great!

If you prefer a sweeter latte (like me), I recommend using a sweetened coconut milk or barista blend etc.

How to Make Homemade Cherry Vanilla Syrup

1

Add everything to a saucepan.

Add the frozen cherries, sugar, water and vanilla extract into a saucepan.

2

Simmer and thicken.

Bring the cherry mixture to a simmer and allow to simmer on the stovetop and thicken slightly – we want all that cherry goodness to come out of the cherries!

3

Cool and strain.

Allow the cherry syrup to cool slightly before straining it into your desired glass container or mason jar.

4

Refrigerate and use!

Store covered in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a couple weeks and use whenever desired!

Espresso or Espress-no?

If you don’t have an espresso machine, don’t fret! We’ve got you covered. Check out the different options below!

Instant Espresso Powder

Follow the directions on the bottle to whip up the equivalent of 1-2 shots of espresso using the instant espresso powder and hot water.

Cold Brew

Keep a bottle of your favorite cold brew in the refrigerator and top of your cherry vanilla latte with your bottle of brew.

Strong Coffee

Or, you can just brew your coffee a little extra strong and pour it over!
