The Monthly Scoop – November 2021

Welcome to another Monthly Scoop post – November 2021 edition! Whew! November flew by and I can’t believe I’m typing this post up already! From all the Thanksgiving recipes, to holiday baking to getting Christmas recipes underway, the kitchen was busy this November! Let’s dive into all the goodies!

November Happenings

November is always a busy month around here and this one was no different! My Thanksgiving menu goes live at the beginning of November, so the first couple weeks are usually pretty Thanksgiving-filled. Then I transition to Christmas! Get ready for all the Christmas cookies and Christmas dinner menu ideas coming your way!

Non-work related, a lot of time was spent out at the farm this November which was SO good for my soul. We really aren’t town-people!😂 Even though we don’t live in a big town, I easily feel suffocated living in town vs. the country. So it was really nice to be able to house-sit the farm for a week! I told John that he was going to have to drag me back into town after that week was up😂. Waking up every morning, making a cup of coffee and looking out the window to be able to see Queso and Amos grazing in the morning light was surreal. I could definitely get used to that everyday!

Since we’re living in town the girls, Darbi and Charlee, are getting to go on a lot more car rides. We try to take them out to run around at the farm as much as we can, which means all sorts of pup-cups for them when we swing through the coffee drive throughs! They could definitely get used that treatment😂. Charlee is still learning to not bark at the barista before getting a pup cup – it’s a work in progress.

John booked us a coffee flight date at The Chocolate Season and it was so fun! You get to choose 4 different coffees, hot chocolates or teas that you want to try and they come out like a flight of beer. Such a great idea! We can’t wait to go back for the holiday drinks version. We have also been shamelessly hooked on their hot chocolate bombs. If you can, get your hands on them! Some of the best hot chocolate hands down!

We were able to squeeze in some last minute family pictures to be able to use for our Christmas card. You never know how it’s going to go when you are trying to get 2 horses and 2 dogs to take a picture with you – some of the behind the scenes photos my mom got are pretty funny. Charlee, in particular, hates the horses and always tries to nip at them when she can. Needless to say, she doesn’t like being eye-level with them haha!

November Recipes

November’s recipes were perfect for Thanksgiving and the holiday table. Loaded full of comfort and goodness. As always, I strived to create fun, delicious recipes with easily accessible ingredients that you feel comfortable making in your own kitchen. Click on your favorite recipe below and get to cookin’! Monthly Favorites

  1. Old Navy Jeans – talk about a comfy pair of jeans! I love the button fly and the denim isn’t stiff. Very comfortable! I went with my regular size.
  2. Old Navy Sweater – I love multiple things about this sweater: the material (not too thick), length (covers the booty!) and all the color options! Mine did give off a lot of lint my first wear, but I didn’t dry it. Going to try drying it a bit to see if this helps.
  3. Target Boots – these boots were HARD to get – they kept selling out so quick! But I’m so glad I got my hands on a pair. They are totally worth it!
  4. Erin Condren Planner – I needed my 2022 planner already (which is crazy to me!!). These have been my favorites for years!
  5. TSC Vest – these are some of my favorite vests! Currently on major sale. I was finally able to snag a black one this year!
  6. Trader Joe’s Cedar Balsam Candles – snagged a few of these and I love them! The perfect Chrismtas scent without being too over-powering. MUCH cheaper to buy at Trader Joe’s rather than online.
  7. Christmas Tree Collar – finally caved and bought a tree collar this year. I’ve just been stuffing one of our blankets around the bottom so this is definitely an upgrade haha!
