Lots of yummy cooking happened in the new kitchen (which is almost all the way unpacked and organized!), the KJ & Company team was introduced on social media (make sure to keep reading to meet them!) and our new house has continued to feel more and more like a home every day. Let’s jump into what all March 2023 had in store!

The Monthly Scoop – March 2023

Welcome to another Monthly Scoop – March 2023 edition! March is usually one of those months that drags on, but man, this one flew by!

March Happenings

We kicked off March by diving straight into shooting Easter recipes and content! The KJ team was excited to work with a new video crew and it was so fun to get to video in the new kitchen! All the Easter recipes you need are going to be in your mailbox SOON so get ready for it! 🙂 We can’t wait to see the recipes you create!

Warmer weather has started creeping in this past month, so that means that Darbs has already made her first plunge of the year into the pond and that green grass is starting to pop through. Which also means allergies…and field burning season… oh the joys of spring haha!

If you’ve been following along for awhile, you may already know that my horse Queso has been resting from an injury we’re not quite sure how he got. We made the decision to send him to a dear friend and local horse trainer who has a special touch in the type of rehab work that he needs. It’s been amazing to see all that he’s learned so far! Plus, going out and visiting him at their barn reminds me of my horse showing days :).

The whole KJ & Company team was also introduced on social media this past month! If you didn’t happen to see, don’t you worry! Meet everyone below!

My name is Kate, but I go by KJ around here!

Welcome to KJ & Company!✨

I started KJ & Company back in 2015 as a fun, creative outlet, but God had much larger plans!
These past years have been so amazing as God has continued to bless KJ & Co with growth, amazing clients, team members and the best people (aka YOU) that make my recipes in your own kitchen!😍

I love creating simple, yummy recipes that you feel you can make in your own kitchen – we all gotta get dinner on the table!🤗

Here’s some fun facts about me:
1️⃣ My husband and I met when we were 14 – we’ve officially been together half our lives!
2️⃣ I can’t do a somersault or cart wheel to save my life.🤸🏼‍♀️
3️⃣ I named my horse Queso because how can you resist yelling out “Quueeeesooooo” across the pasture as loud as you can and see a horse come running?🐎
4️⃣ I don’t have a favorite food to eat/make but my dessert better have some chocolate somewhere in there🍫
5️⃣ I pour 5 seconds worth of creamer into my morning coffee☕️

Ashley is the Content Manager here at KJ & Co and keeps this crazy ship running!
She came on last summer and let me tell you, this gal is a life saver! 🙌🏼
From helping with scheduling, clients, organization, website/email upkeep, and alllll the dirty dishes that she cleans, Ashley has a heart of gold! ✨

Here’s some fun facts about Ashley!
1️⃣ her and her husband are high school sweethearts with 3 cute kiddos!
2️⃣ she makes a mean margarita🍹
3️⃣ one of her favorite foods is fried gizzards… it’s ok to judge😂
4️⃣ her usual coffee order consists of 3 shots of espresso over ice ☕️
5️⃣ a good pair of earrings and she is sold👌🏼

Brittany does all the copywriting for KJ & Company. That means, all the words in the recipe posts and on the website are all her!
Brittany started helping out last year and has knocked it out of the park – I love how she incorporates a splash of humor into the posts and makes them so relatable to real life!😍 We couldn’t do it without her!👏🏼 Plus, she tackles alllll that SEO like a QUEEN.

Here’s some fun facts about Brittany:

1️⃣Married for a decade!
2️⃣Former American Idol wannabe. Now 5️⃣living out her rockstar fantasies belting Frozen with her two toddlers.🎤
3️⃣Hates raw onions 🧅
4️⃣4 years owning her website strategy company (check it out! @brittby1 )

Monthly Favorites

  1. Dyson Cordless Vacuum – during a Costco trip I was looking at these vacuums and an older lady came up to me and told me it was the best vacuum she has ever bought, so, by golly, I had to get it! I’m SO glad I did – John and I are both obsessed with it! A cordless vacuum is a game changer!
  2. Costco Stackable Wooden Storage Bins – I now have 3 sets of these in my pantry and am completely unashamed haha! They are so great for holding snacks, onions/garlic, lemon/limes, potatoes and other pantry staples!
  3. Target Decorative Pillows – finally got some pillows for our living room couch and I love how neutral these are with a bit of pattern! Plus, the covers are washable!
  4. Stove Guard – with the amount of cooking that goes down in my kitchen, this Stove Guard has made cleanup SO much easier!
  5. Kitchenaid Cordless Hand Mixer – I snagged this for shooting recipe videos and absolutely love it! It makes mixing anything so much easier and less of a hassle!
  6. Dani Austin Podcast De-Influenced – I love following along with Dani Austin and her podcast is just the same! It’s a great listen :).
