The Clark Griswold Cocktail

  • By KJ

“Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?”

While we can’t condone Clark’s approach to hosting, we can definitely get behind his enthusiasm for the holidays! And what better way to channel that Griswold spirit than with an eggnog cocktail?

The Clark Griswold Cocktail combines creamy eggnog, spiced rum, and a dash of orange juice. One sip will have you feeling the Christmas spirit faster than Clark’s holiday lights can short out the neighborhood. 🎄💡

Serve this fun concoction in these iconic moose mugs and raise a toast to the merriest time of year.

She’s a beaut, Clark! 🦌

Clark Griswold Cocktail Ingredients

Eggnog

Use your favorite store-bought eggnog, or try making it from scratch if you’re feeling ambitious!

Spiced Rum

This adds warming notes that complement the eggnog perfectly.

Aromatic Bitters

A few dashes add depth and complexity to the cocktail.

Orange Juice

Just a splash brightens up the drink and adds a subtle citrus note.

Nutmeg

For an added cozy touch!

How to Make a Clark Griswold Cocktail

1

Shake it up.

Pour the eggnog, spiced rum, aromatic bitters, orange juice, and nutmeg into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until well chilled.

2

Pour and garnish.

Strain the cocktail into your moose mug (or a regular glass if you don’t have your moose mugs yet). Garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg or a cinnamon stick.

3

Embrace the holiday chaos!

Settle in, sip your Clark Griswold Cocktail, and let the holiday antics unfold.

Whether you’re untangling lights or hiding from Cousin Eddie, this drink is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit.

A Family Affair

If you’re making this eggnog drink for the (older) family members or friends, you can make a big batch at once!

Just mix up the ingredients in a big pitcher or punch bowl. When you’re ready to serve, stir the drink well, pour the mixture into ice-filled glasses, and sprinkle with nutmeg.
