Slow cooker apple cinnamon oatmeal is a comforting breakfast dish that is easy to prepare and will fill your home with a wonderful aroma. It’s made with wholesome oats, fresh apples, warm cinnamon, and a splash of milk for creaminess. Sugar gives the dish a touch of sweetness, and butter and vanilla add an extra special touch. 

This is a fool-proof way to cook oatmeal. Plus, you’ll only end up with one dish to clean. Simply add the ingredients to the slow cooker and walk away. 

Serve this for a large crowd at brunch. Or prep the oatmeal in advance and reheat it throughout the week for a delicious breakfast on the go.


  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 4 cups milk of choice (I love to use oat milk!)
  • 2 apples, diced (choose a tart apple such as a Granny Smith or Honey crisp)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray. Gently stir all the ingredients together in a 6-quart slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or until the oatmeal is soft and cooked through. Check in on the oatmeal around the 2 hour mark as all slow cookers cook differently. It can also be cooked on low for 4-5 hours. 
  3. Serve warm with honey, additional milk, pecans and cinnamon as desired!


  • You can peel the apples or not depending on preference.
  • My slow cooker oatmeal was done at the 2 hour and 30 minute mark. All slow cookers cook differently, so check in on yours!
