Pizza night is getting an upgrade! Pepperoni and Pepper Calzones are a nice break from your typical pizza dinner. Salty, spicy pepperoni and colorful peppers are smothered in cheese—all wrapped in fluffy pizza dough.

Pepperoni and pepper calzones are great to make with family and friends. Let everyone roll out their own dough, choose their fillings, and bake some calzones! Or, make a bunch of mini calzones for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ben Wyatt would be proud.

  • 1 pizza crust
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • 4 oz sliced pepperoni
  • 1/3 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Roll the pizza dough out to create roughly a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
  2. Spread the marinara sauce on half of the rolled out pizza dough, leaving an inch of dough clear around the edges for crimping.
  3. Top the marinara sauce with the pepperoni slices, green bell pepper and mozzarella cheese. Gently fold the un-used half of the pizza dough over the top of the fillings and match up the edges.
  4. Use your fingers to crimp all the edges together to seal the calzone together. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the garlic salt. Evenly brush the top and sides of the calzone with the melted butter.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzone is golden brown. Serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping and parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
