Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies are widely known for their decadent peanut butter cookie base and a Hershey Kiss chocolate snuggled into the center to create a blossom. Chocolatey, peanut butter goodness in every bite! A classic cookie recipe to have up your sleeve!

For the cookies:

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

For the coating:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 26 chocolate kisses

For the cookies:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter, sugar and brown sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about a few minutes. Wipe the sides of the bowl down and mix in the egg and the vanilla until combined.
  2. Mix in the salt, baking soda, and flour until a dough forms.

For the coating:

  1. Use a medium-sized cookie scoop to scoop the cookie dough into balls. Gently roll the cookie dough balls into the sugar coating until completely coated. Place on a non-greased baking sheet a few inches apart from each other.
  2. Bake for 12-13 minutes, or until the cookies are just barely golden brown. They wont spread much at this point. Immediately insert a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after they come out of the oven. This will also gently spread the cookie out into a crackly-blossom effect.
  3. Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store cooled cookies in an air-tight container or plastic storage bag. Enjoy!

  • Creamy peanut butter is preferred for this recipe, but chunky can be tried for little peanut pieces inside the cookies as well.
