Description

Mocha Fudge Mug Cakes are the answer to any quick and simple dessert request! All the wonderful, fudgy, moist flavors of a chocolate cake in the palm of your hand, literally. You can have a spoonful of chocolate cake in your mouth in under 5 minutes, how great is that? Mix up a batch of these Mocha Fudge Mug Cakes for a delicious chocolate dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant espresso powder
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips

Topping ideas:

  • Chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream
  • Ice cream
  • Cocoa powder
  • Chocolate covered espresso beans

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and espresso powder together in a microwave-safe mug until clump-free.
  2. Add in the oil, milk and vanilla and stir until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  3. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let the mug cake cool for a few minutes before topping with desired toppings. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Dutch processed cocoa powder is highly recommended for this recipe, but regular can also be used.
  • If your microwave cooks hot, check the mug cake at the 1 minute mark to see if it needs another 15-30 seconds.
