Description

Mixed Berry Crumble is a delicious dessert loaded full of fresh fruit. From strawberries, to blackberries to blueberries, you can’t go wrong with this scrumptious combo! Add on an almond sugar cookie crumble on top, bake until perfectly bubbly and golden brown. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you have a dessert that will disappear before your eyes!

Ingredients

Scale

For the berry filling:

  • 32 oz fresh strawberries, stems removed and quartered
  • 8 oz fresh blueberries
  • 6 oz fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

For the crumble topping:

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

For the berry filling:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine all of the berry filling ingredients together in a 9×13 baking pan or a round baking pan of similar size. Toss to coat the berries completely with the sugar, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.

For the crumble topping:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, baking soda, sugar and almond extract until a crumble topping forms. Evenly spread the crumble over the top of the prepared berry filling.
  2. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the berry filling is bubbly and slightly caramelized and the crumble topping is slightly golden brown on top. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • You can use any ratio of berries that you like! For example, if you like blueberries more than blackberries, then double up on the blueberries and omit the blackberries!
  • Frozen berries can be used as well, but you will need to adjust the cooking time to compensate for the frozen berries. You can also thaw and drain the frozen berries and cook as originally stated.
