Why KJ Loves
Greek Grilled Chicken Burgers
I love how light and flavor-packed these burgers are! It’s a fun twist on the classic burger and the leftovers were pretty darn tasty as well!
Greek Chicken Burger Ingredients
Ground chicken
If you can’t find ground chicken, you can use ground turkey instead.
Egg
This binds the ground chicken mixture together for a Greek burger that doesn’t fall apart in a million crumbly pieces.
Shallot
The mildness of the shallot pairs well with the other flavors without totally overpowering them.
Garlic
Use minced garlic for this chicken burger recipe. Fresh is best, but you could also use jarred garlic to make things quick and easy.
Fresh dill
Separate and chop your fresh dill. Here’s a short video on how to prepare fresh dill. If you want to use dried dill, measure proportions in teaspoons instead of tablespoons since dried dill is more concentrated.
Dried oregano
Salt & Pepper
Feta cheese
You’ll want to use a feta cheese block for the best whipped feta.
Grape tomatoes (chopped)
Mini cucumbers (chopped)
Kalamata olives (chopped)
Lettuce
Brioche buns
Recipe
1
Mix and form the chicken burgers.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
In a large bowl, gently combine the ground chicken, egg, shallot, garlic, salt, pepper, dried oregano, and two tablespoons of fresh dill until evenly combined.
Evenly divide and form into 6 hamburger patties.
2
Grill the Greek chicken burgers.
Grill the chicken burgers for 8-10 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees.
Tip: If you want to make these on the stovetop, you can pan-fry the Greek chicken burgers in avocado oil on _ heat until they reach the internal temperature of 165 degrees.
3
Make the toppings.
This is where the extra touch of magic happens.
First, make the whipped feta. While the burgers cook, blend the feta cheese in a food processor until it is completely whipped and smooth.
Then, make the Greek relish. In a small bowl, combine the tomatoes, cucumber, olives, and the remaining tablespoon of chopped dill.
4
Assemble and devour!
Remove the Greek chicken patties from the grill and lightly grill the buns prior to serving.
Assemble the burgers by smearing a layer of whipped feta on the bottom bun and adding the burger on top. Then, finish with the lettuce, the prepared tomato relish, and the top bun.
Serve with pita chips, and dig in!
5
Wash the dishes. How sad.
