What is a Chocolate Root Beer Float?

You may be thinking I’m crazy with this one, since a classic root beer float features creamy vanilla ice cream. BUT you have to hear me out! Chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. It’s life-changing! The combination of the chocolate syrup and ice cream mixed with the deep, root beer flavor creates a dessert so good you won’t be able to resist it.

To me, it tastes like a fizzy, chocolate Tootsie Roll! Give it a try and tell me what it reminds you of!

How to Make a Chocolate Root Beer Float

First off, grab a glass and drizzle the inside with chocolate syrup. You can go as crazy or little as you like with this part.

Then, get to scooping the chocolate ice cream! A few standard-size ice cream scoops should work just fine. Use your favorite chocolate ice cream for this part.

Finally, pour over the root beer! One can per root beer float. One of my favorite parts of a root beer float is the creamy foam that forms on top after you pour the root beer over the ice cream. It’s the best part!

Chocolate Root Beer Floats are the perfect dessert for a fun spin on a classic. Quick, simple and oh-so delicious! Get to scooping, pouring and slurping!
