Why KJ Loves

Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes

Your Title Goes Here

All the flavors of a classic cheeseburger and sloppy joe all in one! We absolutely love this easy weeknight dinner option! I easily served this recipe gluten free by skipping the buns and made “Cheeseburger Sloppy Joe Bowls!” Served the sloppy joe filling over roasted potatoes and then added on all my cheeseburger toppings!

Cheeseburger Sloppy Joe FAQ

Can these sloppy joes be made ahead?

Yes! Follow all of the instructions on preparing the sloppy joe filling. Allow the filling to cool slightly. Then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a couple of days in advance. To reheat, transfer the mixture to a skillet over low heat and cover with a lid until heated through.

Can these be made in a slow cooker?

We haven’t tested this recipe in a slow cooker because it’s so easy as-is! But you can transfer the sloppy joe mixture to a slow cooker after making it to keep it warm for a crowd.

What kind of cheese is good on sloppy joes?

American cheese will get you the good ‘ol classic American cheeseburger flavor. But you could top this with any sliced cheese you like. (Some will melt more easily than others.)

Can you make these gluten-free sloppy joes?

Make this recipe gluten-free by using gluten-free hamburger buns. Also, ensure your Worcestershire sauce is completely gluten-free (not all are!).
