Ingredients
Scale
For the burgers:
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup buffalo sauce, plus an additional 1/4 cup for glazing
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 6 slices colby jack cheese
For the bleu cheese spread:
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/3 cup bleu cheese crumbles
- 1 green onion, thinly chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Toppings:
- Brioche buns
- Butter lettuce
- Additional buffalo sauce
Instructions
For the burgers:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, 1/4 cup buffalo sauce, bread crumbs, seasoned salt and onion powder and use your hands to gently mix it all together. Form into 6 equal balls and gently flatten into patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working with a few burger patties at a time, sear them for 5-8 minutes on one side before flipping. Sear for another 5-8 minutes or until cooked through. Brush each burger evenly with the additional buffalo sauce set aside for glazing.
- Place a slice of cheese on top of all the burgers, cover the pan with a lid and allow the steam to melt the cheese, reducing the heat if needed. Repeat this until all the burgers have been cooked.
For the bleu cheese spread:
- While the burgers are cooking, combine the sour cream, mayo, bleu cheese crumbles and chopped green onion in a small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Build the burgers:
- For the best experience, lightly toast the brioche buns. Build your burgers by layering butter lettuce, bleu cheese spread, turkey burger, additional buffalo sauce and the top of the bun. Dig in!
Notes
- Ground turkey or ground chicken can be used.
- These burgers can also be grilled!
- Store the burger patties and the bleu cheese spread separately in the refrigerator for a great meal-prep option.
- If you don’t like bleu cheese, try out feta or goat cheese!
