Channel the vibe of a classic banana split…but for breakfast (and with good-for-you ingredients).
Breakfast Banana Splits are a fun twist on your morning meal. Start with a ripe banana and add your favorite yogurt, parfait toppings, and a cherry on top.
The best thing about this banana parfait recipe is its flexibility. Customize the toppings with cacao nibs, granola, Nutella, berries…whatever you love! Or (let’s be honest), with whatever you happen to have on hand.
Why KJ Loves
I love how fun and easy these breakfast banana splits are! A great way to be creative and change up your morning routine. Use whatever you have on hand for toppings and dig in!
Breakfast Banana Split Ingredients
Bananas (of course!)
A ripe (but not overripe) banana holds its shape the best for these breakfast banana splits. If your bananas are too green, you can always put a few in a paper bag to speed up the ripening process.
Yogurt
Choose your favorite yogurt, whether that’s Greek yogurt or dairy-free coconut yogurt.
Toppings
The sky is the limit! But here are some of my favorites to get you brainstorming:
- Granola: I love the healthy Simply Elizabeth brand!
- Fresh fruit: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
- Dark chocolate/cacao nibs
- Coconut flakes
- Nuts
- Maraschino cherries
Drizzles
Technicallyyyy this a topping. But one that’s in its own league. Melt some peanut butter, almond butter, or Nutella to drizzle on top. Or lightly sweeten your split with maple syrup or honey.
