The guac doesn’t cost you any extra around here! A simple, 5 Ingredient Guac is all that you need to make your fresh guac dreams come true. Dunk a freshly baked, crispy Homemade Chipotle Chip right in and get down to business. The creamy, cool guacamole is just what the salty, crunchy chipotle chips need. Simple ingredients put together to make your tastebuds sing!

I’m the only person in our house that eats guac (I know, don’t even get me started), so this 5 Ingredient Guac speaks my language! A few simple ingredients that I can have on hand to quickly whip up a fresh bowl of guac works perfectly for me. Creamy avocados mixed together with vibrant cilantro (I even grew the cilantro I used!), bright lemon juice, zesty red onion, and a pinch of salt or two.

The creamy, cool guacamole is just what the salty, crunchy chipotle chips need.

Typically, I have a bag of tortilla chips or two stashed in the cupboard in case of emergencies, but I was clean out when I needed them. But, you know what, I’m sure glad I didn’t have any! Creating my own, homemade chips was so fun and easy! I love the smoky flavor from the chipotle powder and the desirable saltiness from the seasoned salt. You won’t even miss these chips being baked instead of fried! They are the perfect companion to this fresh guac.

Whether you are whipping up this 5 Ingredient Guac with Homemade Chipotle Chips for a crowd (Cinco de Mayo, anyone?), or just for you, it is sure to please! A hassle-free recipe that is sure to disappear right before your eyes. Plus, its pretty dang healthy, too! How much better can it get?

Ingredients

For the Guac:

  • 4 avocados, skins removed and pitted
  • 1/2 of a red onion, finely diced
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste

For the Chips:

  • 6 tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

For the Guac:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the avocados, red onion, lemon juice and cilantro. Use a fork to gently mash it all together until desired consistency is achieved. You can leave it more chunky or mix and mash it together until more smooth. Season to taste with salt.

For the Chips:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the seasoned salt and chipotle powder. Cut the tortillas into 6-8 equal triangles depending on the size of your tortillas.
  2. Spread them out evenly on a couple baking sheets, spray the tops with cooking spray, sprinkle evenly with half of the seasoning blend and bake for 6-8 minutes. Flip all the triangle pieces over and repeat the same process on the bottom side. Spraying them with cooking spray, evenly sprinkling them with the seasoning blend and baking for another 6 minutes or so. Allow to cool completely prior to storing.
