Buffalo Turkey Burgers are bursting full of flavor! Buffalo sauce is infused into these turkey burgers in more way than one. Top them off with some melted cheese and a creamy bleu cheese spread and you have pure buffalo flavor bliss. These burgers are the perfect option to put spice up your dinner menu!

To be honest, buffalo isn’t normally a flavor I choose, BUT these Buffalo Turkey Burgers have won my heart! They are the perfect combination of buffalo sauce (I like a mild buffalo sauce) and a cool, creamy bleu cheese spread. Simply irresistible! We loved re-heating our leftovers for the next night too!

Let’s Build Some Burgers:

When it comes to choosing your toppings for these Buffalo Turkey Burgers, I like to keep it simple! From the melty cheese, buffalo sauce and the bleu cheese spread, these are already packed full of flavor! Here’s what I like:

  • Toasted brioche bun (buttered even better)
  • Butter lettuce
  • Bleu cheese spread
  • Buffalo turkey burger
  • Buffalo sauce

Bleu Cheese Spread

Are you a bleu cheese lover like me? Becuase you will definitely LOVE this bleu cheese spread! It made me do a happy dance when I swooshed my turkey burger through the bleu cheese drippings on my plate. It’s such an important part of this dish!

If you aren’t a bleu cheese fan, I would still recommend making this spread and subbing in a light, crumbly cheese that you like. Here’s some bleu cheese substitutes:

  • Feta
  • Goat cheese
  • Queso fresco

Buffalo Sauce

Picking out the right buffalo sauce is vitally important – you gotta have one that you like! For me, I don’t like a buffalo sauce that is overly “vinegary” or has too much bite. Here has been my favorite by far!

Whether you are whipping these up for a weeknight dinner or serving a crowd, they are bound to disappear before your eyes! Plus, they make for a great meal-prep option!

Description

Buffalo Turkey Burgers are bursting full of flavor! Buffalo sauce is infused into these turkey burgers in more way than one. Top them off with some melted cheese and a creamy bleu cheese spread and you have pure buffalo flavor bliss. These burgers are the perfect option to put spice up your dinner menu!

Ingredients

Scale

For the burgers:

  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup buffalo sauce, plus an additional 1/4 cup for glazing
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 slices colby jack cheese

For the bleu cheese spread:

  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/3 cup bleu cheese crumbles
  • 1 green onion, thinly chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings:

  • Brioche buns
  • Butter lettuce
  • Additional buffalo sauce

Instructions

For the burgers:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, 1/4 cup buffalo sauce, bread crumbs, seasoned salt and onion powder and use your hands to gently mix it all together. Form into 6 equal balls and gently flatten into patties.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working with a few burger patties at a time, sear them for 5-8 minutes on one side before flipping. Sear for another 5-8 minutes or until cooked through. Brush each burger evenly with the additional buffalo sauce set aside for glazing.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on top of all the burgers, cover the pan with a lid and allow the steam to melt the cheese, reducing the heat if needed. Repeat this until all the burgers have been cooked.

For the bleu cheese spread:

  1. While the burgers are cooking, combine the sour cream, mayo, bleu cheese crumbles and chopped green onion in a small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Build the burgers:

  1. For the best experience, lightly toast the brioche buns. Build your burgers by layering butter lettuce, bleu cheese spread, turkey burger, additional buffalo sauce and the top of the bun. Dig in!

Notes

  • Ground turkey or ground chicken can be used.
  • These burgers can also be grilled!
  • Store the burger patties and the bleu cheese spread separately in the refrigerator for a great meal-prep option.
  • If you don’t like bleu cheese, try out feta or goat cheese!
