Spiced Apple Butter Bread

Spiced Apple Butter Bread is a perfect fall baking recipe! Each slice is like a warm, sweet apple wrapped up in a cinnamon blanket. Serve the bread warm from the oven with a smear of extra apple butter and it’s a match made in heaven!

Apple butter is like an apple sauce that is cooked low and slow until it is beautifully caramelized. You can make it from scratch or buy it at a local store. For me, I stock up when I visit our local apple orchard! John and I made the trek down there today to brave the crowds for hot apple cider donuts, fresh bags of apples and, of course, plenty of apple butter! Whipping up another batch of this Spiced Apple Butter Bread is at the top of my to-do list.

When this Spiced Apple Butter Bread is baking away in your oven, your whole house will smell amazing – just like a fall candle! Resisting this bread straight out of the oven is the hardest part. But, I do have to say, a warm slice of Spiced Apple Butter Bread is hard to beat! Smear on some additional apple butter and softened butter and then you really won’t be able to resist.

After the bread has cooled, I love to slice it up and place each slice in their own plastic storage baggy. That way, you have a perfect grab-and-go breakfast option! It also helps with keeping the bread from drying out.

Apple season is just beginning and I am ready to jump head first into it! We are already talking about our next trip to the orchard in October for the Granny Smith apple harvest!

Description

Spiced Apple Butter Bread is a perfect fall baking recipe! Each slice is like a warm, sweet apple wrapped up in a cinnamon blanket. Serve the bread warm from the oven with a smear of extra apple butter and it’s a match made in heaven!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter, melted
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, apple butter, eggs and vanilla extract until smooth. Add in the sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and mix until completely combined and a batter has formed.
  2. Spray and line a standard bread loaf pan with cooking spray and parchment paper. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until golden brown on the top and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
  3. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack to cool completely. You can serve the bread warm, or let it cool completely before storing it in an air-tight container. I recommend storing cooled slices in their own individual plastic baggies for an easy grab-and-go breakfast option. Enjoy!
