The 2019 Thanksgiving Menu is here! This year’s menu is packed full of goodies ranging from a show-stopper turkey to a pumpkin dessert that will disappear before your eyes. Let’s jump on in!
After I made all of these recipes, I noticed how smoothly my day of cooking had gone. Why was that? What was different? Well, several things!
First off, I didn’t chop a single onion! That’s right, no tears here. Actually, there isn’t much chopping involved in all of these recipes at all. There is some peeling and cutting of the potatoes and apples, but other than that, you’re off the hook!
Secondly, smoking the turkey freed up my oven space. Since the turkey was sitting on the smoker all day, I didn’t have to schedule my oven time. If you have a dual oven, this solves your oven scheduling dilemma as well.
Lastly, all of the recipes are simple, yet delicious. No frivilous ingredients necessary. Just downright good food!
Also, this Thanksgiving menu happened to be budget friendly without even trying! Here’s the breakdown:
- 15 pound turkey – $22.35
- 5 pound bag gold potatoes – $4.99
- Chives – $1.99
- Cranberries – $2.49
- Honeycrisp apples – $7.16
- Apple cider – $2.49
- Carrots – $1.89
- Dill – $1.99
- Honey – $3.69
- Bacon – $4.99
- Green beans – $5.38
- Pumpkin puree – $0.95
- Instant espresso powder – $4.19
- Cream cheese – $3.89
That’s crazy to me! A Thanksgiving menu with 6 different recipes under $75. Granted, this is if you purchase everything at Target (not sponsored) and for the current online prices. You never know what sales could be running locally or when closer to Thanksgiving! This price also does not include pantry staples such as flour, sugar, cinnamon and butter. If you need to factor those amounts in, you certainly can, but you would still be under $100 for feeding 10-14 people! That would also be the price if you are making the entire meal. A lot of the time, guests bring a side dish or a pie.
