Epic Tomato Soup Sauce is a tomato soup so good that it also equals as a sauce to use in place of any jarred pasta sauce. Or, it’s a sauce so good that it can be eaten as a soup! Either way, you need to have this simple, yet decadent recipe in your recipe box!
- 2 – 29 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, roughly chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Combine all of the ingredients into a large pot or Dutch oven over low heat. Cover with a lid and let simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the onion is completely cooked through and soft.
- Use a hand blender to blend the soup/sauce until smooth, about a few minutes. If you do not have a hand blender, carefully pour the soup/sauce into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
